PRThailand's Sudirman Cup players were in high spirits as they arrived for the mixed team badminton championships on Australia's Gold Coast. Thailand, who are in Group 1A, will face Hong Kong in their opening tie on Monday and then take on pre-tournament favourites and 10-time champions China two days later. Despite Thailand's 1-1 head-to-head record against Hong Kong in the tournament, Nikorn is confident the players can do well and achieve their quarter-final target. "Getting a win in our opening tie against Hong Kong is very crucial to our hopes of reaching the quarter-finals." The women's team consists of Ratchanok, Busanan Ongbamrungphan, Nitchaon Jindapol, Pornpawee Chochuwong, Sapsiree Taerattanachai, Rawinda Prajongjai, Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Savitree Amitrapai.
